The Florida Everglades Resort at Big Cypress facilities, infrastructure and operations will be developed as entertaining and educational experiences highlighting: EDUTAINMENT

Programs and Experiences Offered

Current plans are to offer the following programs and experiences at the Big Cypress facility:    

  • World-class natural environment and breath-taking scenery-sunsets;
  • Unique wildlife viewing and wilderness exploration opportunities on and off site;
  • Access to the world-renowned Lake Okeechobee and the Everglades Restoration Project;
  • Diverse, high quality outdoor recreation experiences on and off site -- world-class bass  fishing and boating opportunities -- including canoeing, and kayaking;
  • Programs with highly-trained native expert guides that include hands-on nature and cultural activities and Ah Tha Thi Ki Museum;
  • Informative, entertaining, indoor and outdoor interpretive exhibits, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies, Big Cypress Basin Service Center and Lake Okeechobee;
  • Traditional Florida cuisine -- including standard fare, gourmet food and wild delicacies -- served in a beautiful atmosphere.  Food court restaurant and lounge all operated in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner;
  • Uniquely designed garden lagoon pool with islands, child-safe pool  and lap lanes, Jacuzzi;
  • Jogging, biking and outdoor exercise courses, as well as an indoor gym;
  • State-of-the art meeting and mini-conference facilities and Spa;
  • Indoor and outdoor entertainment areas for music and dance programs that are compatible with the protection of wildlife and habitat sustainability
